In a story that reads like a joke, a man stunned residents when he accosted a pregnant woman and asked to buy her urine.
A man accosted a pregnant woman in Meru and demanded she sell him her urine.
According to Alice Nkirote, she was on her way home when a stranger approached her and congratulated her on her condition.
“He told me of how bringing forth life is such an important role and is vital to building the nation. We then engaged in small talk about money,” said Nkirote.

Apparently, the man told her how difficult it is to get money in the current economic times as compared to when one could count on picking money on the streets on a daily basis.

The man told her that he’d been told such urine could cure skin ailment.

“I was shocked and couldn’t believe him. I didn’t want to risk getting bewitched by selling my urine to a man who consults witch doctors for only KSh 100,” added Nkirote.
Witch doctors are a common phenomenon in Meru county.
Despite being told off for his peculiar request, the man persisted, promising to increase the amount he would pay her for her body fluids.
It took her yelling at him for him to scamper off.
