ZENITHBLOG.com came across an interesting video of some members of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) members who were trying to quench fire with their prayers.
Religious activities have been bizarrely taken to another level as a group of women suspected to be members of MFM, were spotted praying while a fire was raging in a nearby compound.
The women who stood in front of the MFM building along Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos, were seen addressing the fire in hopes of getting it to stop as a result of their prayers.
Someone even started singing a popular song ‘let the power of the Lord come down‘.

A Facebook user, Udoh Kingsley-Udoh, who shared the post on his timeline said:
”Mid last year, I wrote about the rising growth of negative dogma and tradition in the church and some folks were quite unhappy. I’m still of the opinion that religion should be a lamppost used for illumination rather than support. I just watched this video a few minutes ago and it further buttresses that there’s a thin line between having faith and being outrightly insane. Until Africa come to the realization that prosperity and common sense does not respond to prayer and fasting, we will remain a brutal nadir, and sign a lifelong contract on the bottom of the totem-pole of the world.”

Another Facebook user, Olajide Ericsson Adelana, who also shared the story said:
“Sometimes faith is complex and can be equated to foolishness. In this case without anyone making attempt to quench the fire (from the video there’s no fire service) and you are right there praying for the fire to “disappear”….that is foolishness. I am sorry, this isn’t anything but foolishness. But then wetin I sabi..? “
