The Indigenous People of Baifra (IPOB) has said that Friday, April 28, is a special day for the group.
Referring the recent release of Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB said it wishes to remark April 28, 2017, as a day its leader stepped out of Nigeria prison.
A statement by the group’s media and publicity secretary Powerful Emma, IPOB appreciated all leaders who stood as sureties for Kanu.
ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that Emma said: “We will remain grateful to God Almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama who made it to be possible and a remarkable day in the history of the newly formed Nation called Biafra, it will remained evergreen in the hearts of every Biafran both born and unborn.”

“The Biafrans and IPOB members worldwide will forever remain grateful to you and be loyal to your good leadership. Your resoluteness and steadfastness has made us Biafrans proud, honestly we are proud of you Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Emma said.
“The man who saw tomorrow, the Noustra Danous of the old predicted your coming 400 years ago and the emergence of a great Nation from the trigger gun of African continent. He said the Sun shall rise from the east and a great Prince shall emerge the whole assassination attempt on him shall fail and there shall emerge a great Nation on earth.
Your predicaments for almost two years in the hands of Nigerian Government and your truthfulness and resoluteness has proven to the entire world that you are the great Prince we are waiting for,” he said.

The group however said the task is yet to be completed until other members of IPOB and Kanu’s co-accusers still in detention are freed.
“The leader of the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB, the director radio and Biafra television Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom proven to all and sundry that the coming and recognition for the young Nation is around the corner.
However, IPOB will not fail to pursue relentlessly for the release of Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu, Mazi David Nwawuisi, Mazi Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Mazi George Onyeibe our Africa Representative and those 25 members detained illegally in Igweocha prison since 2015.
Mazi Bright Chimezie Ishinwa is still in DSS secret cell since October 2016 without charging him to court and Mazi George Onyeibe who was also kidnapped by the security operatives in his house in Obiakpo Rivers state. We will never abandoned them.
Therefore, we are calling on Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, all the relevant Human Rights Organizations around the globe, Men and Women of good conscience to prevail upon the Nigeria Government and her judiciary to release our members who has been in their custody for so long without trial,” Emma concluded.
