Resign now over your failing health – Group tells Buhari

– The Global Youth Peace Empowerment and Development Initiative (OGYPEDI) says President Buhari has been inactive since he returned to the country from his medical leave abroad

– The group advises the president to resign on health issues

– The OGYPEDI states that Nigerians need a strong, active and healthy president who can tackle the problems of the country

A group, the Global Youth Peace Empowerment and Development Initiative (OGYPEDI), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign to enable him concentrate on his failing health.

The national coordinator of the group, Mr Japhet Omene, made the statement on Friday, April 28, in Osogbo during the organisation’s emergency meeting on state of the nation, Vanguard reports.

Omene, said that it was glaring that since Buhari returned to the country from his medical leave abroad he, has been inactive and silent which is a bad omen for the country.

He advised the president to resign on health issues, saying it was evident that the president needs rest to recover well.

OGYPEDI has called on President Buhari to resign on health issues.

“The President needs to address some issues facing the country that made Nigerians lose faith in him. Nigerians are still waiting for the change he promised,” Omene said.

Besides, Mr Mark Ayasal, the northwest coordinator of the group, said Nigerians need a strong, active and healthy president who can tackle the problems of the country.

“Let us not forgot we are currently facing a lot of problems ranging from economic downturn,herdsmen menace, uprising from different angles in the country and high level of unemployment. We advise the president to step down in the interest of Nigerians who voted for him and wanted change,” he said.

“If the President should resign, he will always be remembered and celebrated for solving one of the country’s problem. We urge Nigerians to continue to pray for our leaders and the country at large, they should also maintain peace in all circus and make love reign irrespective of party and religious affiliations.”

Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com has reported that resident of Kastina state – President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state – have raised their concerns over the health status of the president.

The resident said it has become pertinent that the presidency take the bull by the horn and allow President Buhari resign and attend to his health.

Speaking on the president’s health, the chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Kastina state chapter Abdulmumini Shehu Sani said due process must be observed in handling the affairs of the nation.
