The senator representing Delta North senatorial district in Delta state, Peter Nwaoboshi has raised an alarm over the activities of the EFCC.

In an interview with select journalists, the lawmaker stated that he is being hounded by the EFCC for not supporting the nomination of the anti-graft commission boss, Ibrahim Magu, and this backing of Senate president, Bukola Saraki.

The EFCC had accused Nwaoboshi and his brother, Augustine Nwaoboshi, of duping the Delta state government of N2.1 billion through a failed contract.

Senator Nwaoboshi said the EFCC is after him for supporting Senate President, Bukola Saraki

ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that Nwaoboshi had earlier raised a point of order on the floor of the Senate accusing Magu of terrorising senators since he was not confirmed and asked that he should be removed from the agency with immediate effect.

His words: ”I have heard people say that, the EFCC takes time to prosecute people in the public through the press without verifying the issue. This is a typical example.

”As you saw in the news, nobody has spoken to me or my brother, it is just the press. So, what they do is put it in the press so that the public will condemn you and get opinion on their side, they don’t care whether they win the case or lose, they mudsling and do everything with your name.”

EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu has been accused of vendetta severally by different politicians

The lawyer turned lawmaker said he has been threatened that he will be dealt with me for supporting Saraki.

He said: ”I was the first senator elect to address a press conference in porthacourt to tell the world that, Saraki will be the best senate president.

”I was also one of the senator who resisted moves by PDP senators when APC senators were not in the chambers the day we elected the Senate president.

”I resisted that PDP shouldn’t elect their own as Senate president even though we were in the majority that day and we could have gotten it.

”My reason was that, if we do this, they will say, we want to hijack or waylay the government of APC. I feel vindicated today.”

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee investigating the alleged $17 billion stolen undeclared oil proceed has summoned Magu.

The committee has commenced investigation into alleged 17 billion dollars stolen from undeclared crude oil and liquefied natural gas exports to global destinations.
