– The 101-year-old woman now has a staggering 17 gold medals since 1993

– She plans to compete in the 200m sprint, 2kg shot put and 400-gram javelin

A 101-year-old Indian woman has won the 100 meter sprint in the ongoing World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand.

The woman, identified as Ms Kaur and nicknamed ‘miracle from Chandigarh’, is reportedly the only athlete to finish the race in her category.

Ms Kaur finished the 100 meter dash in one minute and 14 seconds. She reportedly had no serious contenders behind her.

“I enjoyed it and am very, very happy. I’m going to run again, I’m not going to give up. I will participate, there’s no full stop,” she said as she celebrated her victory.

She now plans to participate in the 200m sprint, 2kg shot put and 400-gram javelin. Her aim is to increase the number of gold medals she already have to 20.
