President of the Association of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators and Youth Coalition, Eshanekpe Israel Akpodoro on Tuesday, poured encomium on the planned whistle blowing policy against illegal arms by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
The reaction of the group is coming on the heels of the federal government’s announcement to launch the whistle blowing policy code-named neighbour to neighbour whistle blowing aimed at mopping up small and medium arms illegally acquired by citizens.
According to the ex – militant leader, the policy, if well followed, it is capable of yielding more results than the whistle blowing policy on fiscal matters, noting that with the new policy Nigerians will heave a sigh of relief from those he described as criminal gangs.
The ex-militant leader who spoke after the plan was made public by the federal government, said the plan was a great move, especially in the Niger Delta region which he said has the propensity to arms proliferation as a zone known for militant groups.
