The Lagos state commissioner for Arts and Culture, Mrs Nosimot Adebimpe Akinsola, has revealed plans by the state government to ensure the unification of Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos and other non-indigenes of the state during the Lagos at 50 celebration.
Mrs Akinsola who spoke with some journalists in her office at the state secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, recently, explained that the celebration is being extended to everyone living in the state.
She noted emphatically, that the state government and the governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, are poised to make sure the celebration is one of its kind across every zone in Lagos.

Among other activities to continue the Lagos@50 celebration is the Eko Arts Expo which will also be an avenue for exhibition of great art works in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Already, the ‘three wise men’ (a replica of the statue at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun states) have been seen in different parts of Lagos.
The activities will reach a climax on May 27 are expected to also boost the state’s economy.
