Senator Danjuma Goje has told the Nigerian Senate that files containing work on the 2017 budget proposal, including 18 files, and have been declared missing.
Goje who serves as the chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, told the upper chamber that the report on the 2017 Appropriation Bill has been stalled by the recent raid on his Abuja home by policemen.

The senator while lamenting on the raid said processes on the 2017 budget had been put on hold since the policemen invaded his house and took the documents.

The Senate in its resolution tasked an ad-hoc committee to look into the matter.
Goje, a serving senator, is currently being prosecuted for alleged corruption while he was Gombe state governor.

A security source said the operatives were from the Monitoring Unit of the Inspector General of Police, and were on a mission to recover funds believed to be hidden in the building.
