Former President Goodluck Jonathan has again invited the warring factions in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a roundtable discussion.
The Guardian reports that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi were summoned by Jonathan to a meeting at his residence in Abuja.

The meeting was confirmed by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the spokesman of the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee on Wednesday, April 5.
He said the caretaker committee members would attend the meeting being put together by the immediate past Nigerian leader.

Professor Wale Oladipo, the national secretary of the Sheriff faction also confirmed that a strong team will be led to the meeting by Sheriff himself.
ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that Jonathan had advised Sheriff and Makarfi to step down as a way to resolve the leadership rift within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Governor Ayo Fayose-led PDP governors’ forum had met with Jonathan on Tuesday, February 28 as a way of outing an end to the leadership tussle in the party.
Although Makarfi had received support from governors in the party, Sheriff was recognised by an Appeal Court as the chairman of the party.
