Patience Jonathan’s $5.8m has now been forfeited to the government following an ex-parte order by a federal high court in Lagos
ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that The Punch had reported just few hours ago on Tuesday, April 25 that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had withdrawn its application seeking a stay of the execution of a court order which unfroze the Skye Bank account of the wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience with a balance of $5.9m.
A counsel for the EFCC Rotimi Oyedepo appeared before the same Federal High Court in Lagos which had on April 6 unfroze Patience’s account saying that the commission had changed its mind about appealing the unfreezing order.
