– Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president is expected to visit Adamawa state on Thursday, 13 April
– However, the state governor has been accused of forcing pupils to carry placards in respect of his 2019 ambition
– Failure of schools’ heads to obey the state government directive is expected to attract stiff penalties
A Facebook user, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu has accused Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state of forcing primary school pupils of the state capital to carry placards during Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s visit’s on Thursday, April 13.
ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that the directive was issued through Education Secretaries (ES) of the state.
According to Mustapha, failure to obey the directive will attract serious penalties for heads of the concerned schools.
His post read: “In preparation of receiving the vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday this week, the government through Education secretaries (ES) urged all the pupils of primary schools in the capital to come out and receive the vice president.
“But the main target is to hold posters of the governor with inscriptions of 2019 on the posters.

Going further, Mustapha argued that “all the schools were giving numbers and failure to bring their pupils will not go without consequences, even though the pupils are on holiday.
“Before the governor was voted during the 2015 and no pupil raised any poster and since God ordained it, he is the governor now.
“But it is unfair to punish any school head for failing to bring his pupils as some had travelled for holiday. The governor should pay the teachers their salaries. This is more important.

“For example Musdafa Primary School,Yola, is given number 114 and I learnt reliably that the ES summoned all the head teachers and gave them numbers, instructions and powerful warning,” he said.
ZENITHBLOG.com‘s efforts to reach the Adamawa state government was however not successful as at the time of filing this report.
