He said his role model has been Jelani Aliyu, adding that he was hoping to travel abroad to pursue his dream since automobile design is not being taught in any of the Nigerian Universities.
He said: “As a young talented car designer from Katsina, I am following the path of Jelani Aliyu. I am in my early 20s and I am now in my first year in the famous Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic studying Architectural Technology because of the passion I have for automobile designs.
“I hail from Dutsin-ma Local Government of Katsina state and did his primary and secondary schools all in the same state. Just like Jelani Aliyu, I started Architectural Technology and I am hoping to travel abroad to pursue his dream since automobile design is not being taught in any of the Nigerian Universities.
“I was well brought up in an extended family of 23 children and I am the ninth child among them. I did my primary school in Dutsin-ma and junior secondary school at Commercial College Mai’adua and Senior Secondary school at Government Technical College Ingawa all in Katsina state.
He added that right from his childhood, he has the passion of drawing especially of cartoons, home appliances and houses, adding that his passion for drawing caught his elder brother’s attention and decided to take him to one of the state’s Technical College to study Building.
But as fate has would have it, he could not pursue that because of his recurrent asthmatic health problem so he had to drop out to Science School.
Makera further stated that after he finished Secondary school in 2015, he applied for Architectural Technology in Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic but was given a Science course instead.

Being guided by his passion, the young Automobile designer turned it down but according to him pressure from his family compelled him to accept the offer and enrol.
“My mind was never in the class throughout that one year hence my poor performance.” I was always roaming about around the Architectural classes and even attending their classes whenever I found chance,” he said.
He noted that when the session ended, he reapplied for his dreamed course – Architectural Technology and he was able to secure it.
According to him, my major source of inspiration is from God and the fact that he excelled among his peers in terms of drawing since during his Nursery school time.
He also named one Uncle Isma’il – his primary school teacher as part of his inspiration because he encouraged him whenever he drew during that time.
