– NASA announced a breakthrough discovery on one of Saturn’s moons
– It has been confirmed that Enceladus has the six basic elements necessary for life
– The findings were made by the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, launched in 1997 into space
The U.S. space agency NASA has announced alien life could exist within our solar system, after several findings the Cassini spacecraft sent from one of Saturn’s moons were processed.

Saturn’s sixth largest moon Enceladus apparently has hydrogen gas, a component considered “the chemical energy for life”. Cassini dived deep into one of its oceans -which is constantly throwing high-powered jets of water- where the startling discovery was made. It was already known that Enceladus possessed carbon dioxide.

Cassini has been traveling through the solar system for almost twenty years
There could very well be single-cell organisms, similar to those present on Earth when life began several billions of years ago, living on Enceladus.

Cassini has been exploring Saturn for thirteen years. “This is the most exciting discovery in my eight-year career at NASA,” said senior astrobiologist Mary Voytek.
Scientists believe this breakthrough discovery will pave the way for more explorations within our solar system, in order to find life. David Rothery, professor of planetary geosciences at the Open University, said that if life “has happened twice in this solar system, it opens up everything.”
