Thugs armed with Israeli-made weapons allegedly disrupt voting in Mushin during Lagos LG election

– The Lagos state local government election was held on Saturday, July 22

– The seats for chairmanship and councillorship positions in 57 LGAs and LCDAs were keenly contested for

– The election however had security challenges in some areas

A report by one Samuel Ajayi posted on Facebook indicates that political thugs disrupted proceedings in the just concluded Lagos state local government election in Mushin/Ojuwoye local council development authority.

According to the report, dare-devil thugs wielding Uzi assault rifles stormed the collation center in the area and started re-writing results after scaring away by-standers and party agents.

About 30,000 police officers were deployed around the state for the Lagos LG polls

Uzi rifle is an Israel made weapon that can fire over 200m range and the rate of fire is an incredible 600 rounds per minute.

The poster also claimed that the information came from a top All Progressives Congress (APC) member in the state.

The report was posted on the page of Ekiti state Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Lere Olayinka.

Meanwhile, results obtained by ZENITHBLOG.com shows that the APC is leading in the results displayed in various local governments across the state.

In a related development, the minister of works, housing and power, Babatunde Fashola, did participate in the local government election.

ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that the former governor of Lagos was absent at Ward G3, Unit 002, State Senior Grammer School, Itolo, where he normally cast his vote.

Reporters who waited for the minister to arrive his polling unit amid the heavy rain were left disappointed as he did not show up till voting and counting ended.

Efforts to reach Hakeem Bello, spokesperson to the minister to know why his boss did not come to Lagos to vote proved abortive as several calls made to his phone were not picked.
