Premier League club Manchester United on Monday morning, July 24, 2017 defeated Spanish and European League champions Real Madrid 2-1 on penalties in their pre-season friendly game played in Santa Clara in America.
The game ended 1-1 in regulation time before the Red Devils went on to win the match on penalties to the delight of United gaffer Jose Mourinho.
Jesse Lingard netted the first goal for Manchester United in the 45th minutes after being set up by Anthony Martial, and the Englishman wasted no time beating Real goalie Keylor Navas.

Martial would have given United the second goal in the 50th minutes when he received a glorious pass from Michael Carrick, but he wasted the chance.
Real Madrid got their equalizer in the 69th minutes via a penalty after Theo Hernandez was brought down by Manchester United new man Victor Lindelof, and Casemiro stepped forward to score the penalty.
Manchester United went on to win the match 2-1 on penalties, and the Red Devils will now meet Spanish side Barcelona on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in another pre-season game.
