Governor Ganduje speaks about Buhari’s health status after meeting in London (video)

Governors who went to visit President Muhammadu Buhari have returned back to the country.

The governors left the UK on Thursday, July 27 after having a meeting with the president.

Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano state expressed delight over President Muhammadu Buhari’s better health condition shortly after he and six other governors met with him.

The governors who were selected to represent the six geo-political zones were led by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara who is the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.

They met with the president on Wednesday, July 26, in London where he has been for more than 60 days on medical treatment.

Ganduje said after the meeting:

“From what we are hearing, we see that Mr President is in a much better condition. We were very happy to see him. He came out personally to shake hands with us and went back and sat down. The chairman of the Governors’ forum made a brief speech and he (President Buhari) also responded and cracked jokes.

“So I believe Mr President will soon recover fully and come back to Nigeria.”

ZENITHBLOG.com had earlier reported that the president was in good health though no date has been given as to when he would return to Nigeria.

Sahara Reporters added that one of the governors who spoke on the condition of anonymity said President Buhari’s illness had taken a toll on him.

“Yes, the illness had a taken a toll on his health”

“I did not notice any remarkable change in his voice,” the governor said.

He said he hoped the president would follow the advice of his doctors and not rush back to the country.

“After all, he has left the country in a very capable hand, fiercely loyal, competent, cerebral and unambitious,” he added.
