Federal government agency releases project pictures to debunk fraud allegations (photos)

– The management of Voice of Nigeria (VON) has clarified a controversial issue that the organisation has been dragged into

– The issue has to do with the company’s corporate headquarters

– The Director-General of VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu has addressed the issue

The VON management has debunked a certain media report accusing them of high level fraud and money laundering.

In a statement sent to ZENITHBLOG.com, the government-owned media outfit stated that the accusations are false.

The report had accused the management of VON of awarding contracts running into millions for the supply of a generating set, furniture, ICT center and completion of a non-existing new corporate headquarters.

Reacting, VON Director-General, Mr Osita Okechukwu clarified certain details in the report.

“Plot 1386 Oda Crescent contrary to the report is one of the fruits of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-graft war, which Mr. President in principle graciously referred Voice of Nigeria, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allocation.

“The occupation is being delayed by legal niceties of final forfeiture. This could be easily confirmed by the EFCC.

“The generating set, furniture are warehoused at our transmission office at Lugbe and the ICT DATA CENTER is currently warehoused at Radio House, Area 11, Garki,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has directed an emergency meeting with a cross section of the state’s public sector workers on Thursday, July 27, at the government house.

According to a statement by the Ekiti state Head of Service, Dr Olugbenga Faseluka, the meeting is aimed at discussing modalities for sharing the N4.7 billion Paris Club refund received by the state from the federal government.
