Two construction workers from Turkey have been kidnapped from their hotel rooms in Eket, Eket local government, Akwa-Ibom on Monday, April 10.
The state police Public Relation officer, Mr Chukwu Okechukwu said the incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning
Okechukwu said Commissioner of Police, Mr. Donald Awunah, on Monday morning led a team of senior police officers to Eket and its environs towards rescuing the white men.

He said efforts are underway to rescue another man, the Sure Foundation Polytechnic proprietor, Dr. Idongesit Udom, who was also kidnapped on Sunday, April 9, at Ukanafun Local Government Area on his way to church.
Okechukwu said: “We are aware of the incident. I am assuring you that efforts are in top gear to rescue them.
“As I am talking to you, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Donald Awunah, and some senior police officers are on ground here at Eket and its environs searching for the two white men and the man from Ukanafun.”

ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that this is not the first case of kidnapping in the area. About a month ago, a Roman Catholic priest, Rev Father Felix Akpan. Akpan was abducted by yet-to-be identified gunmen along Abak-Ukanafun Road.
Meanwhile in Lagos, a senior nursing sister, Mrs Winnifred Alofoje reportedly went missing shortly after she called her daughter.
The family of a 58-year-old matron, Mrs Winnifred Alofoje, were afraid she may have been abducted after she went missing last Friday April 7.
ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that efforts to reach her on her telephone were said to have proved abortive, as the line was switched off.
