FINALLY! Sacked Pencom DG hands over after DSS raid

– The sacked DG of the National Pension Commission, Chinelo Anohu-Amazu has finally handed over to her successor

– She was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari last week

– Report had earlier surfaced that she refused to handover which prompted DSS operatives to invade of the commission’s headquarters

Following her sack, the director-general of the National Pension Commission, Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, has handed over to the newly appointed DG of Pencom.

A top official in the commission disclosed that she handed over at about 10am to Dahir-Umar on Monday, April 24, The Punch reports.

This comes about five days after she was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that Anohu-Amazu was removed on Wednesday, April 19 and on Saturday, April 21, operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) reportedly raided the Pencom office in Abuja following her refusal to hand over to her successor.

However, the source said that contrary to speculations that she refused to hand over, her

termination letter did not come on time.

The source said: “It was on Friday at about 6pm that her letter of termination of appointment was delivered to her which was why the handing over was scheduled for Monday morning. So the new DG has taken over and has started receiving briefings from top officials of the commission.”

Confirming the development, the head of corporate communication, Pencom, Emeka Onuorah, said the transition has been successfully concluded.

He assured stakeholders that the change in leadership would not affect the commission so there was no need for panic.
