The Wednesday edition of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting did not hold today, April 19, The Punch reports.
ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that journalists who rushed to the Presidential Villa early enough to witness the opening of the meeting were disappointed when they discovered that the meeting could not hold.
Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, said the meeting did not hold because of the Easter holidays.
Sources said the meeting was not slated on the president’s schedule for the week at all.

Shehu said the two-day holiday made it difficult for members of the council’s secretariat to make memos available to ministers two or three days ahead of meeting days as it is the norm.
The presidential spokesman said, “The staff on the council
“There was no time to prepare and circulate memos to ministers.
“By practice, the ministers receive council memos two or three days ahead of meetings because they must read them and sometimes undertake research.
“It is not a rubber stamp council, so everyone must prepare themselves well for debates.”
Buhari’s absence at the last week’s meeting, fueled speculations that his health had deteriorated.
But the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, dispelled the speculation, saying the President was hale and hearty.
He said: “I just want to make this clear, Mr President is in town. Mr president is attending to other issues. Mr president looked at the agenda, it was a very light agenda and decided that the Vice President should preside.”
ZENITHBLOG.com previously reported that President Buhari had stayed away from his office for the second time in a row since Thursday, April 13.
