Na wa o! Police allegedly does THIS to man who put 3-inch nail in his nephew's head in Lagos

ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported the touching story of an orphan who was battling to save his life after his uncle drove a 3-inch nail into his head for stealing.

According to earlier reports, 8-year-old Friday Paul who lives with one of his uncles and his family in an apartment at 6, Anjolarin Street, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, was punished for allegedly stealing N500 from his uncle.

His uncle was arrested by the police after he drove a 3-inch nail into his head as punishment while little Friday was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Latest information however reveals that Friday was discharged from the hospital against medical advice while his uncle was allowed to walk free by the police and the case dismissed.

According to reports from Vanguard, when some representatives from the Lagos Child Protection Network went to the police station where Friday’s uncle was being held, they were told that the DPO had dismissed the case and released the suspect, stating that he had no case to answer.

Upon getting to the suspect’s house, it was discovered that he had relocated as the house was under lock and key.

Further investigations revealed that a female Investigative Police Officer (IPO) who spoke the same dialect as the suspect had threatened the suspect’s neighbours asking them to stay out of the matter and stop feeding the media with information.

The staff at the Saviour the Rock hospital where 8-year-old Friday was receiving treatment, said they were threatened by the police as well. They said all the exhibits were taken away from the hospital, and Friday was discharged ‘against medical advice’.

A police source who spoke to Vanguard said:

“We have enough evidence to prosecute the suspect for child abuse, assault and attempted murder, but our Oga (DPO) and IPO are shielding him for reasons best known to them. There are many exhibits relating to the crime: belt, nail, X-ray film, radiological report, GP’s report from General Hospital, Ikorodu, and referral letter showing nail in the head. Also, there are pictures of the injury site before and after the surgery and pictures of the previous scars on the face, forehead and legs. But for reasons best known to the DPO, the suspect was discharged and acquitted over the weekend.”

Na wa o!
