The APC UK has weighed in on a news story published by ZENITHBLOG.com concerning the chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), Professor Itsey Sagay.

ZENITHBLOG.com had over the weekend published a press statement issued by the National Committee of Yoruba Youths (NCYY) calling on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to sack the chairman of Professor Sagay for failure to declare his assets at the Code of Conduct Bureau in accordance with the law.

“The consequences of this illegality is for Professor Sagay to be sacked from office and be immediately prosecuted.

“We therefore give the respected Acting President Yemi Osinbajo who is a Professor of Law and senior advocate to put a stop to this illegality within 48 hours.

“We also call on the CCB to within 72 hours commence the prosecution of the PACAC chairman at its tribunal,” the group said.

APC UK weighs in on allegations against PACAC chairman

Professor Sagay is yet to address the issue raised against him by the NCYY

In a tweet directed to PACAC, APC UK sought clarifications on the issues raised by NCYY.

As at the time this article was published, the PACAC was yet to respond to the inquiry by the APC UK.

ZENITHBLOG.com checks also indicates that the PACAC Twtter handle is not very active. Its last activity was a retweet on Saturday June 17.

ZENITHBLOG.com had earlier reported on how Sagay openly condemned the arrest of the former governor of Bayelsa state, Late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, when the latter was detained in London on charges of money laundering in September 2005.

While many Nigerians condemned the late Alamieyeseigha actions and hailed the British police for arresting him , Sagay condemned the arrest and told the Nigerian media that the arrest was ”a violation of international law” and a result of a ”conspiracy” between the federal government of Nigeria and the British government.

When the late Alamieyeseigha arrived Nigeria after escaping from the British authorities, Professor Sagay suggested that his escape was ”very exciting.”
