Hakeem Bello-Osagie, chairman of embattled telecom company, Etisalat Nigeria limited, has resigned his position from the company.

According to reports by Premium Times, the resignation takes immediate effect.

His resignation decision was said to have followed “the approval of a restructuring plan for the telecommunications firm.”

ZENITHBLOG.com had reported that Etisalat Nigeria limited is currently embroiled in a loan repayment crisis with some Nigerian banks.

ZENITHBLOG.com further reported that three Nigerian banks were set to take over telecommunications firm Etisalat on Wednesday, March 8, over unpaid debt.

According to the report, the move follows the failure of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to broker a peaceful resolution between Etisalat Nigeria and a consortium of banks.
