A report by Daily Trust indicates that a policeman was among 110 persons arrested for various electoral offences during the local government election held on Saturday, July 22.
According to the report, the policeman was arrested in a commercial bus at Agege local government with electoral materials while escorting two others to an unknown destination.
Items recovered from the suspects included tomb printed ballot papers and boxes, witnesses said.
Aside the arrests, policemen also recovered a ballot box and some electoral materials from hoodlums who allegedly hijacked them from officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission ((LASIEC).

In some areas, such as Post Office and Akala area of Mushin, hoodlums allegedly engaged themselves in a shootout during the polls.
Though there were no reported casualties, sources said some persons sustained varying degrees of injury.
Confirming the report, the spokesman of the Lagos state police command, Olarinde Famous Cole, said about 110 persons were arrested while the election was going on.
He stated that the number could be higher, adding that the command was still awaiting reports from other areas in the state.
“Those arrested have been detained at the command and they would soon be charged to court for electoral offences,” he added.
Meanwhile, the minister of works, housing and power, Babatunde Fashola, did participate in the local government election.
ZENITHBLOG.com com learnt that former governor of Lagos was absent at Ward G3, Unit 002, State Senior Grammer School, Itolo, where he normally cast his vote.
Reporters who waited for the minister to arrive his polling unit amid the heavy rain were left disappointed as he did not show up till voting and counting ended.
Efforts to reach Hakeem Bello, spokesperson to the minister to know why his boss did not come to Lagos to vote proved abortive as several calls made to his phone were not picked.
