The Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar urges governors to implement policies that will benefit the common man.
The Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Nigerian governors to work towards rolling out projects that will benefit the common man in the country.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 5, at the second Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest 2.0), the Sultan said governors who have performed poorly would be voted out.
“For those that worked well, we will bring then back, for those that did not will show them the road to their villages,” Sultan said.
“We will use our votes to vote out these governors in 2019.
“We must focus on programs that will touch the lives of the common man and not just the elites.”

Also at the event, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, blasted conservative northern leaders who discourage attitudes and activities that, he said, would have developed the region.
Emir Sanusi, giving examples of the destruction of romance and love books by a former Kano governor and the response of the Zamfara State Governor to the current meningitis outbreak in the state, said what exists in Northern Nigeria is “a complete failure of social policy.”
He also faulted statement by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara that the meningitis outbreak in his state and others was God’s punishment for peoples’ sins.
