Things are about to get rocky in the University of Ibadan (UI) as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter of the institution has declared a one-week warning strike.
What is the problem? ASUU says there have been illegal pension deductions, fractional salary payments and non-payment of supervision allowance.
Deji Omole, the ASUU chairman in UI presided over the congress that took the decision on Tuesday April, 4, 2017.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) union members also complained of the excessive deductions in their March salaries.
And while all these is going on, they also want the management of the university to declare the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) profile of the university, which it has failed to do.
“The warning strike will commence from 12:01 midnight of Tuesday, 4th April, to 12:00 midnight of Tuesday, 11th April, 2017.
“The congress of the union maintains that the failure of the university administration to satisfactorily resolve all the issues, will force the union to proceed on a comprehensive and total strike.”

Mr Omole is not speaking up for the first time. On Sunday, March 19, he criticized the Buhari government, pointing out that the state of the economy was contributing to the growing tensions in the country.
ZENITHBLOG.com reported that he also said that part of the problems with the Buhari administration was policy inconsistency while speaking to journalists on the same day.
Another person who has criticized the current government is portrayed in this video by ZENITHBLOG.com. Watch below:
