Reuben Abati throws epic shade at Zamfara state governor over meningitis

Former presidential spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati has advised the Federal Ministry of Health, to kindly send a copy of an advisory on meningitis Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari.

Abati in a tweet via his handle on Wednesday, April 5, said the federal ministry of health should please translate their advice into Hausa for the governor.

The Zamfara state governor on Tuesday, April 4, said the outbreak of “stereotype C” meningitis was God’s way of punishing Nigerians for “rampant fornication” and “nefarious activities”.

As expected, Nigerians blasted the chairman of the Nigerian Governors forum (NGF), Abdulaziz Yari, for claiming God that is punishing Nigerians with meningitis for their sins.

In her reaction, Lauretta Onochie, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, said Yari only exhibited his ignorance adding that this was just a new strain of the disease.

Bayelsa state senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, said that many politicians would be infected with meningitis if it is caused by sin.

ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that the death toll from the outbreak across several states has increased to 336.

However symptoms of the disease includes headache, fever and loss of consciousness in patients with severe infection.

A medical expert has advised people to ensure good personal hygiene and sleep in well-ventilated rooms to curtail the spread of Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis (CSM).
