– Some Nollywood actors have called for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki and the Shiite leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

– The actors said Kanu, Dasuki, El-Zakzaky and many more Nigerians are political prisoners of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration

The actors said the disturbance and rising agitation in the South-East and South-South region can be likened to the continued detention of these prisoners.

Some Nollywood actors have called for the immediate release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu, former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki and the Shiite leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

The actors under the aegis of United Nigerian Artists for Peace and Justice said Kanu, Dasuki, El-Zakzaky and many more Nigerians are political prisoners of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

The actors led by Bruno Iwoha, Ejike Asiegbu said the disturbance and rising agitation in the South-East and South-South region can be likened to the continued detention of these prisoners.

While speaking to journalists in Abuja after a visit to Kanu in Kuje Prison, Iwuoha said: “There is now way you can have Dasuki, Kanu, El-Zakzaky as political prisoners and have peace.”

He further called on President Buhari and the federal government to have a rethink on the issues that led to the imprisonment of the individuals.

“There is no way you can have a person

detained like this and have peace, until you grant that person freedom that is when you too will have peace.

We call of the federal government to look into their cases and free them. I am advocating for the release of Nnamdi Kanu,” Iwuoha said.

Not only Nnamdi Kanu but for all other political prisoners who have been there (prison) for donkey years and yet to be tried.

Some of them do not even know why they are being locked up. President Buhari, the vice president should make out time and hear these people and address their problems,” Iwuoha added.
