The governors of Delta and Bayelsa states Ifeanyi Okowa and Seriake Dickson have called on Christian leaders to speak up against the evils that have befallen Nigeria as a country.
The governors said Nigerian political leaders are currently derailing on their moral in handling the affairs of the nation.

Speaking on Friday, April 7, at the interdenominational thanksgiving service in honour of the immediate past president of the Christian Association of Nigeria Ayo
While describing Oritsejafor as a voice for the church, Okowa said no one can take away the fact that the former christian leader piloted the affairs of the church and the nation.

Okowa said: “I believe there is no room for retirement. So, I come to let you know that it will not be right to withdraw to your church because you will be doing a disservice to the entire Church in Nigeria and all over the world.”
“We are told that the voice of the elder is the voice of wisdom and I believe that the Church needs you now more than they needed you when you served as CAN President because certain things you couldn’t say then you can afford to say now,” Okowa said.
