Former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Obong Victor Attah, has revealed that Nigeria will implode of true federalism is not given a chance.

Obong Attah who said President Muhammadu Buhari is doing well in his fight against corruption, said Nigeria must pay keen attention to resource control.

The ex-governor made this known in a recent interview with newsmen in Akwa Ibom.

He said he believes Nigeria restructuring process will succeed, especially at this time when the people are now talking about accepting the need for fiscal federalism.

Ex-Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Obong Victor Attah, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts towards fighting corruption

According to Vanguard, the elder statesman noted that going back to fiscal federalism is the only way to save Nigeria from breaking up.

Attah stressed the need for Nigeria to return to “true federal democratic principle”.

Speaking on the economic situation in the country, Attah said: “The economic situation in the country is obvious to everybody, it is not good. But the underpinnings that brought it about were always there”.

“They just burst open at the time that somebody like Buhari is here and, everybody wants to heap the whole blame on him.

Perhaps there is a lot more that could be done to rescue the economy and I believe they are doing it,” Attah opined.
