Mo Abudu denies ownership of recovered loot's Ikoyi flat, says she is not Amaechi's mistress

Media mogul, Mo Abudu has denied some insinuations on social media linking her to the recovered loot by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Abudu addressed the issue through her lawyers – Streamsowers & Kohn, in a statement posted on the legal firm’s twitter handle.

According to the statement, Ms Abudu neither bought the flat nor received such gift from anybody.

The statement further noted that the allegations against Ms Abudu were completely false, malicious and without merit.

”Please note that the publication of such false statements is actionable and gives rise to claims against any person who publishes these false statements.

”We have the instruction of our client to trace and proceed against any person who participates in the circulation of these false and malicious statements,” the statement warned.

Some tweets monitored by ZENITHBLOG.com had suggested Ms Abudu was the mistress of Amaechi.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has given the federal government an ultimatum of seven days to return the recovered cash.

The governor warns that failure to return the money to the state will force his government to take legal measures to ensure that it gets it.

Governor Wike declared that the $43 million found in the apartment belongs to the Rivers state government claiming that investigations by the government revealed that the money was the proceed from the sale of gas turbines by the immediate past governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
