JAMB registers 1 million candidates as it holds 1st mock UTME exams tomorrow

JAMB holds mock 2017 UTME on Saturday, April 8, to prepare candidates for the real exams

Candidates that registered for the 2017 computer based Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME) would be taking their mock tests tomorrow, April 8.

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede made the announcement at a meeting with ‘internal stakeholders’ in Abuja on Thursday, April 7.

Oloyede said the mock exams which would take place nationwide were meant to prepare candidates for the real exams. Only candidates that paid for the mock test were eligible to sit.

He said the challenges being faced by

candidates in the beginning of the UTME registration exercise has been resolved.

The registrar added that about one million UTME candidates were registered as at yesterday, April 7.

ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that the House of Representatives had demanded an extension of one month duration for the ongoing registration.

The House mandated its committee on basic education and services to liaise with JAMB on the extension in order to create more space for prospective applicants.

The lower chamber said the one month period set aside by JAMB should be extended by another one month due to the myriad of challenges faced by prospective applicants.
