– Gov Bindow says he will not dump APC
– He says he is loyal to the party and loyal to the leadership of the party
Governor Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa state has disassociated himself and his administration from reported threat to quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking through the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, Bindow told newsmen Saturday, April 8, in Yola that the media were not fair to the governor, who had spoken at an occasion and declared his full support to the party.
He said: “What Abba-Jimeta said was his personal opinion and the governor did not waste time in countering him at the event.
“The way the story was presented by the media is not fair to the governor.
“Whatever a governor’s aide said cannot supersede what the governor said at an event; we must subscribe to what the governor said as it override whatever his aides say.
“We are loyal to the party; we are loyal to the leadership of the party and we are loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari.”
ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state had reportedly complained against the way federal appointments and projects concerning his state were being handled.
He was quoted through his chief of staff to have said that he and his officials may be forced to dump the All Progressives Congress if the complaints were not addressed.
Abdulrahman Jimeta, the chief of staff to the governor, disclosed this on Thursday, April 6, in the presence of Governor Bindow, while addressing a team from the APC National Secretariat who were on a visit to the state to conduct the north-east mini convention of the party.

He said: “We here are loyal, but tell the leadership of the party that there is limit to loyalty and that party business is optional. In fact, even religion, you have the right to change it because of pressure.
“So, tell them we are loyal, but there is limit to that, especially if they are not recognising us, since we are the army of the party that is supposed to enjoy the fruits of the party; or out of frustration we join the opposition enemy party.”
Jimeta noted that various appointments were made without consulting the state government.
