President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of three executives for the Nigeria Export-Import Bank.

According to a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday evening, April 20, by the director of press and public relations in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, the president approved Abubakar Abba Bello as the new managing director and chief executive of Nigeria Export-Import Bank.
Others appointed for NEXIM Bank are Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello as executive director, corporate services and Stella Okotete as executive director, business development, the Punch reports.

Adebiyi said the appointments are with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, following the suspension of SGF, Babachir Lawal by President Buhari, the most senior permanent secretary in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (OSGF) Dr. Habibat Lawan, has taken over as the acting secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF).
ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that Buhari, on Wednesday, April 19, suspended Babachir David Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ayodele Oke in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina.

The SGF’s suspension was sequel to his indictment by the Nigerian Senate’s ad-hoc committee on the Humanitarian crisis in the North East which accused Babachir Lawal of fraudulent contracts in the IDP camps in the northeast.
Chairman of the committee Senator Shehu Sani, while presenting the committee’s interim report, revealed that the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE) approved contracts for projects that were not directly related to the plight of the IDPs.
Senator Sani had noted that many millions of naira went into contracts that were not of any use to the IDPs. He also noted that many contracts were also inflated for inexplicable reasons.
Following Babachir’s suspension, President Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the secretary to the government of the federation.
Ayodele Oke on his part, was suspended over the discovery of huge sums of cash in Osborne Towers Ikoyi, Lagos, which was linked to the NIA.
President Buhari has also vowed to continue to tackle the country’s challenges.
In a brief tweet with the title: #ThrowbackThursday and a video attached, President Buhari recalled how he was called ‘Baba go-slow’.
He vowed to continue to be ‘slow and steady’ with his job as Nigeria’s leader.
