After suspension as CBN governor, my father not afraid to give up the throne – Emir Sanusi's daughter

– The daughter of the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II has said that her father has always wanted to be the Emir

– Shaheeda said the Emir would not hesitate to give up the throne for anything that will stand in the way of truth

– She said her father has dedicated his entire life to standing for the truth at all times despite the fact that most people see him as a troublesome person

– She also confirmed that her father being a controversial person is no longer afraid of any one or anything in life

The daughter of the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II has said that her father has always wanted to be the Emir.

Speaking at the first annual lecture of the Chibok girls while representing her father Shaheeda however said the Emir would not hesitate to give up the throne for anything that will stand in the way of truth.

She said her father has dedicated his entire life to standing for the truth at all times despite the fact that most people see him as a troublesome person.

Shaheeda said: “My father is not afraid of giving up his throne if it stands in the way of speaking the truth. Those who think that my father would keep quiet because he wants to hold on to his throne, I think they don’t know my father.”

Shaheeda said the Emir would not hesitate to give up the throne for anything that will stand in the way of truth

I know that he has always wanted to be the emir of Kano but to him, if it comes between what is right, what his conscience tells him and choosing the throne, he would happily give up the throne.

ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that Shaheeda also confirmed that her father being a controversial person is no longer afraid of

any one or anything.

She said: “And honestly, he has been a source of inspiration and pride.”

The Emir’s daughter also noted that growing up, she has always known her father to be a fighter.

“He never fails to fight. He fights for progress, liberty, justice and equality. Those who think they know my father should know that he will never be silenced by blackmail and intimidation.

He lost his position once as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and I remember his quote that you can suspend a man but you can never suspend the truth. I know he does not mind being the most unpopular emir so long he speaks the truth,” Shaheeda said.

Recall that the Emir has always been controversial since his days as the governor of the Central Bank when he raised alarm that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had failed to remit over $20 billion to the federation account.

He was later suspended by former president Goodluck Jonathan for the action.

Also recently, the Emir called out Northern political and religious leaders including the governor of Zamfara state for the poverty and challenging raving the North which is said to be the poorest region in Nigeria.
