The “I stand with Buhari” group has launched a counter protest against the march proposed by 2baba Innocent Idibia.
According to a Facebook post by the group, their counter march is to take place on the same day when 2baba has proposed his protest march against the government.
The post reads thus: “#iStandWithBuhari Nationwide Solidarity Rally 5th & 6th February, 2017
Join Us & Show Them We Support Our President In His Efforts To Change The Wickedness Their Looters Brought On Nigerians
Details Out Tomorrow…
We Must Kill Corruption, Or Corruption Will Kill”
Meanwhile, The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Electronic Media, Lauretta Onochie has, Tuesday, called on the pop star to come on national TV to state his “beef with Pres. Buhari” instead of going on national newspapers to make his grievances known.
According to her: “Nigerians would like 2Baba to explain the policies that he’s not happy with on National LIVE TV, as well as proffer alternative economic policies that would better serve all Nigerians. Not on newspapers that could have been written by anyone.”
In a similar vein, the Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni on Wednesday said he will not allow the planned protest against the Federal Government slated for February 5 to hold in the state.
Owoseni, who had earlier stated that there was no official request from the protesters notifying security agencies of their plan, said Wednesday that intelligence report indicates that criminals might hijack the process.
