Stop deceiving Nigerians, you can’t wipe out corruption in 12 months, Governor’s aide tells Magu

Aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Ovie Success Ossai, has said contrary to Ibrahim Magu’s statement, he cannot wipe out corruption from Nigeria within 12 months

– He said Magu was born into corruption and is living in corruption

– Ossai said Magu is deciving Nigerians as his corruption fight is only carried out on the pages of newspapers and on the internet

Political aide to Delta state governor, Ovie Success Ossai, has said that the statement of the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, that he would wipe out corruption from Nigeria within 12 months was not attainable.

Magu had, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, vowed to employ all the forces he could surmount to end corruption in Nigeria in the next 12 months.

Magu made the promise during the official opening of the Ibadan zonal office and stakeholders engagement session, held in Iyagaku, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

ZENITHBLOG.com reports that the EFCC boss said the fight against corruption had just began, noting that in 12 months corrupt people will not be seen in Nigeria.

“The fight has just started and we will do it to the last. We will get them out, just give me 12 months, you will not see

them again,” Magu was quoted as saying.

But Ossai said Magu is deceiving Nigerians with his corruption fight, noting that the fight is only being carried out in the media.

According to him: “It’s annoying hearing Magu saying he will end corruption in Nigeria in the next 12 months.

“Magu was born into corruption and he is still living in corruption, he can only do his best in fighting corruption but he can’t wipe out corruption in the next 12 months.

“The truth is bitter but has to be told. The APC led federal government has failed us with their corruption fight. All we see everyday is corruption fight on the internet.

“They deceived us during the 2015 general elections but today we are wiser. I don’t see the APC winning elections in 2019.”

He called on the federal government to be more proactive in its corruption fight than fighting corruption on the pages of newspapers and on the internet.
