This is how Sokoto state governor celebrated Democracy Day and his second year in office (photos)

– May 29 every year since 1999 commemorates the restoration of democracy to Nigeria

– Ten important projects were flagged off to mark Democracy Day in Sokoto state

– The projects were to also mark the second anniversary of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as governor

Every May 29 is a day set aside in Nigeria to celebrate democracy in the country.

Today also marks the 2nd year anniversary of Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Tambuwal had campaigned for the new position on the premise of continuing with most of the programmes of the previous administration of Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko in Sokoto state.

Today, ten projects were flagged off as part of activities to mark Democracy Day and the second anniversary of Tambuwal as governor.

ZENITHBLOG.com obtained photos of the project as shared on Facebook by Imam Imam.

They are:

1. Flagging off of Sokoto-IML Organic Fertiliser factory by Senator Adamu Aliero.

2. Presentation of 45 buses and instructional materials to public secondary schools by Governor Tambuwal.

3. Commissioning of the dualized Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki Road by Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.

4. Unveiling of new library complex and blocks of classrooms at College of Nursing, Sokoto by Navy Capt Raji, former Military Administrator of Sokoto state.

5. Commissioning of Western Bye-pass/Keystone Bank road by Hon Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives.

6. Commissioning of Gidan Dare roundabout and Sokoto Furniture Factory road by Hon Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives.

7. Commissioning of Government Secondary School Gumbi. Renovated, remodelled and upgraded from Junior Secondary School to Senior (Boarding) Secondary School by CP (rtd) Usman Farouk, former Military Governor of Old North-Western State.
