As the sit-at-home order from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) continues with the shut-down of some states in the south-east, a group from the region has warned Nnamdi Kanu against alleged continued flouting of the bail conditions granted him.
Kanu was granted bail with conditions including that he should not be seen with any crowd.
The South-East Youths and Elders’ Forum (SEYEF), reportedly a non-political pressure group, warned Kanu to stop flouting his bail conditions.

In a communique signed by Maxi Ikechukwu K Edwin, the director of media and publicity, said though Kanu had been released and that this calls for joy, he should rather keep a low profile.

The group said Kanu must avoid another round of face-off with government.
In the communique, the group said: “Southeast leaders should start massive sensitization campaigns ahead of next year’s census exercise in the region.
“Political parties in the region should field their first-eleven candidates in the preparations to the conduct of the 2019 general elections.”
The group said the southeast leaders in Abuja are not doing enough to attract development to the region.
“The group called for enough sensitization on the upcoming census by the National Population Commission (NPC) and added that “the current crisis of confidence in the southeast is not about the development of the region, but a fallout of the move and counter moves by political actors of the region to manoeuvre each other.”

One of the points in the communique, said the group condemned the continuous harassment and intimidation of the deputy Senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu by the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com reported earlier that as the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) takes effect, governors from the south-eastern part of Nigeria have said there is no secession plan in the agenda of the Igbos.
While dissociating themselves from the sit-at-home order by IPOB and other such groups, the governors warned those championing the agitations to desist from it and allow people go about their businesses.
The sit-at-home order was slated for May 30, but in Lagos, many shops owned by Igbos were opened for business.
