The Senate President Bukola Saraki has been cleared of ownership of the controversial N310 million allegedly stolen from his residence by some of his dismissed staff.
Vanguard reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) confirmed that the money does not belong to Saraki or any member of the National Assembly as earlier alleged by its staff.
ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that the dismissed staff Abdulrasheed Maigari is currently standing trail for armed robbery and attempt to fabricate a lie for a hidden motive against the Senate President.

Recall that Maigari a former operative of the secret police had alleged that he and others connived to steal the N310 million from the residence of Saraki while working there as security details to the Senate President.
The investigation conducted by the DSS and the confessional statement made by Abdulrasheed Maigari, a suspect in the case, did not support this claim at all.
However, in his reaction, a top DSS source said investigations revealed last night that there are no evidence to support
The source said the claims by the dismissed official should be ignored.

“The story making the rounds that the N310 million belonging to the Senate President was stolen in 2015 is a malicious falsehood. From our investigation, the money in question did not belong to the senate President or any member of the National Assembly for that matter,” the source said.
”The investigation conducted by the DSS and the confessional statement made by Abdulrasheed Maigari, a suspect in the case, did not support this claim at all.
”Maigari’s recent claim in the media is nothing but a made up story to achieve a hidden motive. The fact that Maigari, who is currently standing trial for an armed robbery case, could make up such a false claim is a further indication of how criminally minded he is,” he said.

Recall that the Senate President had denied ownership of the said money.
Saraki distancing himself from Maigari’s claim said the money was not stolen from his house but from a bureau de change.
