The deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu advised the Igbo people do avoid being provoked into armed struggle.
Ekweremadu who spoke at the World Igbo Congress (WIC) in Enugu state lamenting the developments in the South-East region gave rise to the agitations for Biafra 50 years ago.

However, the All Progressives Congress party have said that the deputy senate president has many skeletons in his cupboard.
The party called on the federal government to initiate an investigation into the activities of the deputy senate president.
