He chided Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state for making payment of salaries and pensions as part of achievements of his administration..

He added that the payment of salaries is normal function of any responsible government not achievement.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the former minister,, who is now Plateau state chairman of PDP, implored the ruling APC to be tolerant and allow democracy to thrive.

He added that democracy without a virile opposition party is nothing at all.

“Allow democracy to strife, the foundation of democracy we are enjoying today was laid by the Peoples Democratic Party, it was nurtured by the PDP. You don’t destroy opposition party,

if you do, that means you are killing democracy. We need to be careful, there must be opposition party for democracy to survive,” he said.

He said the crisis in PDP cannot be addressed amicably by court adding that all aggrieved parties need to imbibe the spirit of give and take and genuine reconciliation while the interest, survival and future of PDP should be placed above board.

He said: “Court cannot solve the problems on ground, what we need is genuine dialogue, reconciliation and the spirit of give and take. There should be no ego; we must all respect the party constitution. If only we can close rank, PDP will return to power at all level by 2019.

“Payment of salary is not achievement, the bailout, Paris club are already made money not Internal Generated Revenue. If the governor wants people to be happy, he should increase the IGR and pay workers reasonable amount.”
