Wife of the Nigerian president, Aisha Buhari, has come under barrage of criticisms following her statements on the health status of her husband.
The first lady who has maintained a low profile since her controversial interview with the BBC, on May 2, took to her Twitter handle to assure Nigerians that her husband is not as sick as is being perceived.

ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that there had been reports in a section of the media alleging that President Muhammdu Buhari’s health had deteriorated to the extent that he could neither eat nor drink.
The reports were also heightened after the president missed two consecutive meetings of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
But the wife of the president trying to allay the fears of Nigerians over Buhari’s health.
She said Buhari’s health had not deteriorated as being portrayed, noting that the president still continues to carry out his responsibilities.
Aisha who thanked all Nigerians for their concern over the issue stated that the president had met with the minister of justice and GMD of NNPC on Tuesday evening.
However, the first lady’s assurances to the nation about Buhari’s health have attracted the rage of some Nigerians on social media who accused her of hiding the true state of the president’s health.

The group called on Aisha to ask her husband to resign since he cannot adequately perform his duties as president.

Meanwhile, following President Muhammadu Buhari absence at the Federal Executive Council meeting which held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, for the third consecutive time.
The minister of information, Lai Mohammed, told journalists after the meeting that the president was absent because he needed rest.
Mohammed said the president was merely following his doctors’ advice to take more rest and that the president was at work on Tuesday but decided to take a rest on Wednesday, Premium Times reports.
