Nigerian states and capitals are divided into six geopolitical zones: South West, South South, South East, North Central, North East and North West. According to the statistics of 2006, Nigeria can provide eight cities with population more than 1 million people. The largest cities in Nigeria are:

- Ibadan with population over 2,6 million people
- Kano with population over 2,8 million people
- Lagos with population over 12 million people

Nigerian 36 states and capitals
Abia
Abia state is located in the South East part of Nigeria. The current governor is Okezie Ikpeazu. The capital of the state is Umuahia. The crucial part of the economy sector in Abia is taken by gas and crude oil production. At least 40% of the State`s GDP is provided by the crude oil and gas production. Still, 70% of all workforce is employed in the agricultural sector of the state which represents only 27% of the GDP.
Adamawa
