ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that a man dragged his visually impaired wife to court, stating that he has been suffering both emotional and physical abuse at her hands.
A Zimbabwean man identified as Felix Dube, dragged his wife to court where he accused her of abusing him both physically and emotionally.
Mr Dube, an accountant at the Bulilima District education office, asked the court for a ‘protection order’ against his wife, Vusile Dube, who happens to be visually impaired.
He claimed she had no qualms about insulting him in the presence of their children, while also stating that she had threatened to kill herself several times.

Speaking in court, Mr Dube said:
“My wife has assaulted me on several occasions. At one time she used my phone to assault me. She once gained entry into my car with the assistance of her relative and took my valuables.
She also shouts at me using vulgar words in the presence of our minor children. She has also locked me out of the house several times forcing me to sleep outside in my car and ripped up my clothes. I still love my wife but I beg the court to grant me a protection order as I fear for my life. She is tormenting me.”
Denying the allegations levelled against her, Mrs Dube also asked for the protection order to be binding to both of them. She said:
“My husband is the one taking advantage of my disability to assault me knowing that there is nothing I can do to defend myself. I have never disturbed his peace, taken his valuables or tore his clothes. In fact he has on several occasions confiscated my valuables. At one time he forcefully took my bank cards and refused to release them when I wanted to pay my medical bills.”

She further claimed that she had filed a domestic abuse report against her husband in the past and he asked her to drop the charge, promising to change.
She accused her husband of lying against her because he was trying to send her away from their matrimonial home, in order to bring in other women.
The Judge however granted a protection order binding on the couple.
