Abia State University is one of the foremost and leading state-owned university in Nigeria. They offer more than ninety undergraduate and postgraduate courses across ten colleges. This post focuses on the undergraduate courses offered at Abia State University Uturu.
Abia State University Uturu was created in 1981, under the name, Imo State University, Uturu and Okigwe in the old Imo State. In 1991, Abia State was created out of Imo State and the Uturu campus was relinquished to Abia state.
The name was changed to Abia State University, Uturu. It has two campuses. The main campus is located in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State. The second campus which houses the college of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine is in Umuahia, Abia State Capital. Since its creation, Abia State University, Uturu, has remained relevant in the use of ICT and modern research facilities in training students.
