Some Biafra supporters who gathered in Enugu state to take part in activities to mark the Biafra Remembrance Day met with police resistance.
About 40 people were eventually arrested by men of the Enugu state police command.
The arrest led to the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, calling for their release.
That situation was avoided in Ebonyi state recently, as some men of the Ebonyi state police command were seen attempting to remove a Biafran flag from an electric pole.
