The release of 82 Chibok girls has led to joy in some quarters of Nigeria and snickers in other areas. Many Nigerians believe that the abduction of the Chibok girls is a hoax and so is their recent release by the Buhari administration.

1. Timing of the release

Some believe that they were released to provide a soft landing for President Buhari to travel to the UK for medical treatment with little criticism.

President Buhari announced that he was traveling for treatment on May 7, 2017 after the Chibok girls met with him in Abuja.

2. Pictures

Some also feel that the entire photo ops after the release is a clear sign that the Buhari administration is milking the release of the girls and that their release is being used for political reasons by the current

administration.

3. Politics

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state has described report of the release of 82 additional Chibok girls from Boko Haram captivity, as diversionary tactics to divert attention away from the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vanguard reports.

Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that the presidency has released the full list of the Chibok schoolgirls who regained freedom from Boko Haram captive, over three years after they were abducted.

A list containing the names of the 82 girls released by the terrorists was made available to Channels Television on Sunday, May 7. Below are the names in no particular order.
