Leaders of ex-militants in phases two and three of the presidential amnesty programme have showered encomiums on President Buhari over his decision to allocate N35 billion for amnesty programme.
They said they are pleased with the coordinator of the presidential amnesty programme Brig-Gen Paul Boro, who they urged to start payment of all the allowances owed ex-militants.
The ex-militant leaders said the programme includes the seven-year housing allowance and outstanding stipends from January 2017 till now.

Vanguard reports that the ex-militants made this clear on behalf of their colleagues.
One of the leaders, Kingsley Egiriki expressed delight at the federal government over the Amnesty programme.
He said: “For the President to release N30 billion out of the N35 billion to the Amnesty programmes goes to show that the Federal Government has the interest of the Niger Delta region at heart.”

Egiriki called on Boro “to make judicious use of the money to clear all outstanding allowances and also make adequate provision for those acquiring all forms of skills or the other and those in higher institutions in Nigeria and abroad”.
ZENITHBLOG.com recalls that the ex-militant leaders alerted the president to the growing suffering and disgraceful plight of Amnesty beneficiaries in Europe, America and South Africa, Leadership reports.
This was contained in a letter sent to the president on Thursday, July 9, 2016. Copies of the document were made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital.
The concerned leaders were led by one of the frontline ex-militia leaders in the state, Pastor Reuben Wilson, popularly known along the creeks and waterways as General Pastor.
Pastor Wilson said the alert sent to the president to draw his attention to the urgent need to address the issues in the region within the Presidential Amnesty office.
